The dismembered bodies of 17 men have been found on a farm in central Mexico in what police believe was a targeted drug killing

Jalisco state prosecutor Tomas Coronado Olmos said that the bodies were dumped by a highway in the town of Tizapan el Alto near the border between Jalisco and Michoacan states. Michoacan is known as the home to the notorious La Familia cartel and its offshoot, The Knights Templar, which have been mired in a bloody struggle for control of the area. Coronado Olmos did not reveal the identities of the victims, but said that the bodies were naked, mutilated and stacked with chains around their necks in what appeared to be a targeted drug killing and that the bodies also had gunshot wounds.
